Moss-Filled Spaces Enhanced by Wood Pallets in a Collaborative Office Environment

Project in-detail

Incorporating moss walls and repurposed wood pallets, the office environment seamlessly blends natural elements with collaborative spaces to foster employee interaction and comfort.
5 key facts about this project
01
Repurposed wood pallets serve as both sound buffers and space dividers, enhancing acoustics and aesthetics.
02
Moss walls are incorporated to improve air quality and provide natural sound insulation.
03
The office layout includes collaboration booths designed for flexible teamwork and privacy needs.
04
Translucent polycarbonate dividers allow natural light throughout while maintaining visual connections.
05
Local craftsmanship is highlighted in the pantry area, fostering cultural appreciation among employees.

The design for a multinational freight service company in Manila, Philippines, focuses on meeting the needs of a modern workplace through a sustainable and user-centered approach. The project emphasizes creating an environment that improves employee comfort while also minimizing its impact on the environment. This thoughtful design aims to provide a workspace that encourages collaboration and well-being.

Spatial Organization

Connectivity is at the heart of the layout, allowing employees to move easily between different areas. Physical barriers are reduced to promote interaction and teamwork. The design incorporates multi-functional spaces that suit various work styles, making communication between employees more effective.

Reception Area Design

Careful planning of the reception area helps to prevent congestion, which is often an issue in busy offices. Public access points are clearly defined, ensuring smooth movement throughout the space. Links to the production area enhance communication and efficiency among staff.

Use of Dividers

Sound management is addressed with the use of repurposed wood pallets, which act as both sound buffers and space dividers. This approach not only helps with acoustics but also adds an appealing texture to the interiors. Polycarbonate sheets are chosen for their light weight, serving as dividers that let in natural light and make the office feel more open and inviting.

Natural Elements

The design incorporates natural features, such as moss walls, to improve indoor air quality and provide sound insulation. In the pantry area, local craftsmanship is showcased, fostering a sense of cultural pride among employees. This creates a workplace that feels inviting and engaging.

The layout also includes pocket libraries that serve dual purposes as quiet areas for concentration and informal meeting spots. This enhances collaboration and supports diverse work needs throughout the office.
