The MODU-FLEX project offers a fresh take on modular housing, set in an urban context that values adaptability and personalization. The design centers on the idea of creating homes that reflect the occupants' lifestyles and changing needs. This approach not only redefines what a home can be but also enhances the connection between residents and their living spaces. Flexibility is at the heart of the project, responding to the realities of modern life where family dynamics and personal choices are in constant flux.

Design Concept

The main feature of MODU-FLEX is a modular panel system. Each panel acts as a changeable element, allowing various layouts to suit the preferences of different residents. This system promotes easy reconfiguration, making it simple for occupants to modify their spaces as their lives evolve. The design emphasizes interaction and connectivity, supporting a modern way of living where the home adapts to its users.

Materiality

Materials used in MODU-FLEX include wooden joints, timber beams, and transparent tempered glass. These choices not only provide structural support but also align with sustainable practices. The inclusion of photovoltaic glass systems contributes to energy production, helping to lower the building’s environmental impact while offering practical benefits. These materials work together to create a space that is not just functional but also comfortable and efficient.

User Integration

MODU-FLEX features a mobile app designed to let users customize their home layouts according to personal needs. By entering details such as family size and preferred spaces, residents can directly influence the design of their homes. This connection between technology and architecture provides a sense of control and ownership, allowing individuals to play an active role in shaping their living environments.

Functional Dynamics

An important aspect of this design is the openings modular system, which allows panels to move for improved ventilation and privacy. This level of flexibility gives residents the ability to adapt their spaces based on different activities and social needs. As a result, the layout can change throughout the day, facilitating both personal reflection and communal interaction.

The elements within MODU-FLEX come together to create a space where adaptability meets sustainability. The arrangement of panels and the thoughtful use of materials foster a welcoming atmosphere. This design encourages residents to make the most of their homes, supporting a lifestyle that values both innovation and comfort.
