Dynamic Interaction Within a Boundaryless Virtual Environment

Project in-detail

Chained-verse creates a virtual environment where users interact dynamically with a customizable space guided by blockchain principles, allowing for unique personal expression within a sustainable and inclusive community framework.
5 key facts about this project
01
Chained-verse integrates multiple interactive systems for user personalization.
02
The design is inspired by blockchain technology, ensuring ownership within the virtual realm.
03
Users can customize environmental factors like temperature and humidity.
04
Community engagement is fostered through shared cultural elements in the design.
05
Flexible movement of components allows for dynamic user interaction within the space.

"Chained-verse" presents an innovative approach to virtual environments, allowing users to create and modify their own unique experiences. This design blends digital technology with personal expression, offering a space shaped by individual choices. It draws from concepts in blockchain technology, particularly the use of non-fungible tokens, to ensure ownership and control within a three-dimensional realm. The concept not only reimagines how people can interact with their surroundings but also serves as a platform for creativity and exploration.

Integration of Systems

At the core of "Chained-verse" are several connected systems that work together to enhance user experience. These include the sun-path, context, partition, furniture, and decoration systems. Each system offers different elements that allow users to navigate and personalize their environments. The interplay among these systems facilitates movement and interaction, making the space feel alive. Users can adjust various aspects of their surroundings with ease.

User Autonomy

The design emphasizes user autonomy, giving individuals the tools to curate their environments as they see fit. Participants can select contexts inspired by various cultural and geographic references. This feature enables them to personalize their experiences according to their preferences. Adjusting factors like scene settings, temperature, and humidity allows for a tailored atmosphere, enriching the user's engagement with the virtual landscape.

Sustainability and Community

Sustainability is a significant consideration in "Chained-verse." The framework encourages self-sufficiency, motivating users to build their economic and cultural foundations within the virtual space. In doing so, the design promotes community and inclusivity, inviting a diverse range of backgrounds. Experiences shared among users can deepen connections and enhance the overall richness of daily life in the digital realm.

Dynamic Interaction

The ability to interact with the space is a key aspect of "Chained-verse." Users can freely manipulate components, rotating, reflecting, and adjusting them vertically. This flexibility allows for creative engagement as individuals shape their environments. The design fosters both personal exploration and collaboration, adapting to various needs and preferences.

Each interaction in "Chained-verse" invites users to create a digital experience that reflects their identity and choices. It showcases the possibilities that arise when architecture expands beyond physical structures and into the realm of virtual reality.

MICROHOME 10: Celebrating Small-Scale Living with €100,000 Prize Fund and Kingspan’s Innovation

`
Competition organisers

The MICROHOME 10 competition invites participants to submit visionary designs for off-grid, modular microhomes that push the limits of sustainable, small-scale living. Organised by Buildner in partnership with Kingspan and Hapi Homes, this tenth edition sets the challenge of designing a dwelling for two people within a maximum floor area of 25 m², encouraging bold solutions adaptable to any urban or rural location. The competition continues Buildner’s mission to foster innovative approaches to compact, energy-efficient housing that can address pressing global challenges.

This year’s edition offers a generous total prize fund of €100,000, including the Kingspan Award for designs that integrate high-performance Kingspan products and the Hapi Homes Award for a project selected for real-world construction. In addition to cash prizes, the winners gain international exposure through Buildner’s media partnerships, publications, and a dedicated MICROHOME magazine, further amplifying their ideas to the wider architectural community.

Key dates for MICROHOME 10 include the closing date for registration on 25 September 2025, the submission deadline on 29 October 2025 (11:59 p.m. London time), and the announcement of winners on 9 December 2025. These milestones ensure participants have clear timelines to develop and present their concepts, with early registration discounts available to support students and emerging designers worldwide.
