The Billboard House is a unique residential solution designed for young couples seeking independence in urban settings where housing costs are high. It combines living space with commercial potential, allowing occupants to generate income from billboard advertising. The design prioritizes functionality within a small footprint, appealing to the needs of modern city living while promoting both personal and financial sustainability.

Design Concept

The architecture focuses on efficiency and flexibility, covering a total area of 24.20 square meters. The layout supports modularity, accommodating the varied functions that residents may need. Important spaces, such as a toilet, shower, and sink, are included to fulfill basic living requirements. This thoughtful arrangement ensures that the home remains practical and comfortable despite its compact size.

Materials and Construction

A carefully selected range of materials plays a crucial role in this project. Some of these materials include metal sheet, EPDM rubber membrane roofing, timber frame construction, premier screws, PBS wall and floor panels, and OSB plywood. These choices are made to enhance durability and provide ample weather resistance, contributing to the overall longevity of the structure. Additionally, a water system for both reusable and fresh water emphasizes a commitment to sustainable living, aligning with current environmental practices.

Economic Model

One of the standout features is the dual-use aspect of this design. By integrating billboards into the structure, residents can engage with the local economy, creating an opportunity for additional income. This approach tackles the challenge of affordability in housing. It allows residents to participate in their community while addressing their financial needs.

Large surfaces for advertising blend functional living with economic opportunities. The overall design maintains a modern look while ensuring practicality, adapting to the changing demands of urban life. Each element works together, creating a home that is both livable and financially viable.
