The Mango Vinyl Hub reimagines an existing foil factory as a vibrant multifunctional space designed to promote creativity and community engagement. Located in a lively cultural district, the project combines a vinyl production facility with coworking areas, exhibition spaces, and a music parcours. The overall design concept focuses on enhancing connectivity and adaptability, addressing the spatial and social needs of users while revitalizing the surrounding urban environment.

Architectural Concept

The design prioritizes connectivity within the hub through visual and physical interactions. A modular wooden framework links various elements, providing essential structural support and allowing for adjustments as the redevelopment progresses. This framework aids in creating a clear separation between public and private spaces, ensuring easy movement and accessibility throughout the area.

Ground Floor Dynamics

On the ground floor, the Mango Vinyl Press features an operational vinyl production area alongside a public engagement zone. This layout encourages visitor interaction, as informative boards and guides share insights into the vinyl pressing process. A temporary exhibition space fosters community involvement, serving as a venue for local events and gatherings. The emphasis on direct engagement turns the factory into a cultural landmark in the district.

Upper-Level Collaboration

The design incorporates coworking spaces on the second level of the new framework. This upper area aims to encourage collaboration among startups and individual entrepreneurs, creating an environment that supports networking and productivity. The open layout benefits from ample natural light, which enhances the atmosphere and keeps it fresh and inviting.

Integration of Light and Air

Daylighting and ventilation are key components of the design. The incorporation of an atrium and strategically placed skylights facilitates the flow of natural light throughout the hub, contributing positively to occupant comfort. Operable windows also enhance air circulation, ensuring an enjoyable indoor environment for users.

A notable aspect of the design is the music parcours that weaves through the project. This pathway encourages exploration and interaction among visitors. It reinforces the site's cultural identity and provides opportunities for social gatherings, creating a more engaged community experience.
