5 key facts about this project
The design at Tili vineyards aims to create a functional and inviting space for visitors while honoring the site's historical architecture. Situated in a scenic location, the project includes guest houses and a tasting room that work together to establish a sense of place. By preserving and integrating existing structures, the design not only respects the past but also meets the needs of modern users.
Concept and Design Integration
Maintaining the largest existing structure is central to the overall concept. The design combines elements of traditional architecture with contemporary ideas. Exposed beams are used consistently throughout the spaces, connecting the project to its agricultural roots. A glass and aluminum roof covers the tasting room, allowing ample natural light inside and creating a direct link to the outside environment.
Spatial Organization and Guest Experience
The layout features two types of guesthouses designed to ensure comfort and reduce noise. Each unit offers key amenities, including kitchenettes and living areas, to accommodate various guest needs. Patios extend outdoors, providing spaces for relaxation and interaction with the surrounding landscape. A central courtyard serves as a communal area, promoting both social gatherings and quiet moments, emphasizing the balance between shared experiences and privacy.
Landscape Elements and Environmental Engagement
Water features are incorporated into the design, surrounded by paths and native plants. These elements enhance the landscape while encouraging a connection to nature. The integration of these natural components fosters a sense of belonging and reflects the unique geographical context of the Tili vineyards. Guests have the opportunity to engage with the site’s ecology, enriching their overall experience through observation and interaction with the environment.
Architectural Features and Aesthetic Considerations
The largest structure houses the tasting room and kitchen, supported by trusses that create an open feel within the interior. High ceilings allow for unobstructed views, drawing the eye upward and connecting visitors to the sky. Heavy timber columns and decorative trusses also define an outdoor plaza aligned with picturesque countryside views. A double-sided fireplace offers warmth to the communal space, inviting guests to relax. Reflecting pools along the central path direct attention toward the mountains, completing the tranquil setting.
