The architectural design situated over the railway tracks in Sydney addresses the growing need for affordable housing within an urban setting. By using a previously underutilized area associated with the railway network, the design creates essential living spaces. Design Concept and Structure
The project features a suspended platform that aims to make the most of the existing infrastructure while providing new living space. Residential towers are arranged along an East-West axis to reduce heat gain from the North-West. This arrangement allows natural light into the apartments and decreases the need for artificial heating and cooling. Safety walls rise six meters above the site, acting as barriers between the homes and the active railway lines, thus ensuring the safety of residents.

The design prioritizes accessibility with the inclusion of cylindrical structures that contain spiral staircases and elevators. These features make it easier for all residents, including those with mobility issues, to move around the building. Structurally Insulated Panels are used for the outer walls, which help maintain thermal efficiency, while laminated plywood panels serve as internal partitions. This choice of materials gives flexibility in arranging living spaces according to resident preferences.
