03
Pathways incorporate changes in elevation, symbolizing personal journeys.
04

05
The integration of earthy tones fosters a connection to the surrounding landscape.

The design explores themes of migration, identity, and the human experience through a clearly defined spatial narrative. Set in a landscape marked by anonymity, it emphasizes personal pathways. Users are invited to engage with the space in ways that reflect their unique journeys. Communal areas foster interaction among diverse groups, creating a sense of belonging in a complex world.

Concept and Boundaries

Boundaries are central to the design, highlighting the obstacles faced by individuals on their journeys. Pathways and changes in elevation serve both practical and symbolic functions. These elements guide visitors through the space. Each transition connects them emotionally to their experiences, allowing for reflection on personal and collective journeys.

Themes of Refuge and Transformation

There is a strong focus on the need for refuge, with areas that promote contemplation and rest. These inviting spaces encourage users to take a moment to pause in the midst of their busy lives. The design acknowledges the reality of migration while offering a place where individuals can reconnect with themselves and find some comfort.

Visual Elements and Reflection

A notable feature is the presence of a “gleam of gold” that acts as a focal point. It symbolizes clarity and moments of discovery. This reflective quality emphasizes how beauty can arise from difficult times. The use of reflective surfaces enhances this connection, allowing visitors to see themselves in relation to the community around them.

Water and Fluidity

Imagery of a river enhances the overall narrative by suggesting a flow between separation and unity. This element encourages visitors to think about their own boundaries and the connections they share with others. By weaving together themes of migration and identity, the design invites deeper contemplation of personal experiences.

The design highlights the different layers of individual and shared journeys. Every aspect encourages thought and discovery. Light moves across reflective surfaces, creating changing environments that offer new experiences throughout the day.
