The Monte d'Oiro Winery is situated in a scenic vineyard, where wine production and visitor experiences come together. The design looks to create a space that serves both functions effectively. By recognizing the roles of labor and leisure, the project encourages interactions between visitors and the landscape. Guests can explore the vineyard in a meaningful way, allowing them to better appreciate the environment surrounding the winery.

SPATIAL ORGANIZATION

A central staircase is a key element of the design, guiding visitors to different areas of the winery. This staircase not only provides access to various levels but also connects indoor and outdoor spaces. It promotes movement and exploration, inviting guests to engage with the vineyard itself. The staircase plays a significant role in offering opportunities for interaction and immersion in the surrounding landscape.

FUNCTIONAL ELEMENTS

Functional features include a counter that offers both storage and a sink, catering to staff needs while providing amenities for guests. Close by is a communal table designed for thirty people, establishing a space for social gatherings. Here, the atmosphere becomes informal, shifting wine tasting from a formal event to a community experience. This approach reflects a contemporary view of wine culture, where shared moments are valued.

DESIGN INCLUSIVITY

The design incorporates a high counter with storage, allowing staff to work efficiently while also fostering visitor engagement. A shaded seating area under a tree provides a retreat for guests, encouraging moments of relaxation within the vineyard. Additionally, a water faucet enhances comfort, ensuring visitors have what they need while they enjoy their time at the winery. This focus on practicality contributes to a welcoming environment.

MATERIALS AND AESTHETICS

Materials used in the winery serve both function and appearance. Elements such as metal drip edge flashing, roof skylight windows, polished plaster, concrete, and various types of insulation support the durability and visual appeal of the building. Every material adds to the integrity of the structure while maintaining a connection to the natural surroundings.

The design emphasizes a careful balance of spaces and environments. It highlights the views of the vineyard, allowing large windows and open areas to frame the landscape, creating an inviting space for both work and enjoyment.
