3angle is located in Merida, Mexico, and is designed for a couple. The concept centers on how light and shadow interact, producing a dynamic quality in both the interior and exterior spaces. By emphasizing natural light, the design connects the building with its surroundings while addressing practical needs like privacy and comfort.

Architectural Composition

The design features various forms and angles, creating a responsive relationship with the environment. Openings are strategically placed to let light flow through the spaces, allowing interior areas to come alive at different times of the day. This thoughtful design enhances the visual appeal and creates a welcoming atmosphere within the home.

Material Selection

Concrete is the main material used, chosen for its strength, thermal properties, and minimal maintenance needs. The project also emphasizes sustainability by incorporating recycled and locally sourced materials. This choice not only reduces transportation impacts but also supports the local economy, pointing to a responsible approach to modern building practices.

Natural Light Integration

Large windows and skylights are carefully placed to increase natural lighting while reducing excessive heat. This design choice improves the overall living environment and creates a connection between the inside spaces and the outside world. Vegetation is integrated into the design, further bridging the gap between architecture and nature.

The relationship between light and shadow plays a crucial role in the overall experience. As the day progresses, the shifting patterns enhance the connection between the architecture and its natural surroundings, transforming each moment spent within the spaces.
