The Mango Vinyl Hub is an architectural project situated in Cirebon, Indonesia, designed to serve as a cultural and community space. It encompasses a variety of functional areas, including a vinyl press, exhibition zones, coworking spaces, and a café. The project aims to create a vibrant public gathering point that reflects the local identity and encourages engagement through art, culture, and shared experiences.

The architectural approach taken in this project emphasizes a modern interpretation of traditional design elements while fostering interaction among users. The arrangement of the building consists of distinct volumes that encourage movement and exploration, creating a seamless transition between indoor spaces and the surrounding landscape. This organization highlights the importance of accessibility and enhances the user experience, inviting visitors to traverse the area and engage with the various offerings of the hub.

Emphasis on Community Engagement
A significant aspect of the Mango Vinyl Hub is its commitment to community engagement. The project prioritizes the creation of inviting public spaces that facilitate social interactions and cultural activities. Outdoor seating areas, communal gathering spots, and flexible exhibition spaces are strategically integrated throughout the design. This layout supports local artists and musicians, allowing for exhibitions and performances that celebrate Cirebon’s cultural heritage, thus establishing the hub as a focal point for artistic expression.

Innovative Materiality and Design
The material selection for the Mango Vinyl Hub plays a crucial role in its architectural identity. A combination of concrete and metal is employed, balancing durability with a contemporary aesthetic. Concrete serves as the primary structural material, providing stability, while metal elements add a modern touch and ensure longevity. Large expanses of glass are incorporated, promoting natural light and visual connections between interior and exterior spaces.

The landscaping around the hub features indigenous plants, designed to enhance the environmental experience and promote sustainability. This thoughtful integration of natural elements provides green spaces for relaxation and social activities, contributing to the ecological future of Cirebon.
