5 key facts about this project
The design serves as a space for meditation, situated within a landscape filled with plants, flowers, and trees. It aims to create a connection between the built environment and nature, allowing users to experience a tranquil and reflective atmosphere. The concept focuses on sensory engagement and the importance of interaction with the natural surroundings. Through thoughtful arrangement, the design enhances the meditation experience.
Design Concept
A three-step approach shapes the overall design, emphasizing the importance of personal experience during meditation. Wood flooring connects users to the earth, promoting a sense of grounding. The walls are arranged horizontally to align with wooden modules while aligning vertically with trees in the surroundings. This design creates a clear pathway that guides users through the space, helping them transition into meditation.
Interior Elements
Inside, shelves and a fireplace are thoughtfully integrated into the floor, minimizing the distinction between the indoor area and the natural earth beneath. Designed to accommodate an instructor and four guests, the meditation area invites individuals to explore their spirituality. A permeable floor invites nature to flow into the space, further enhancing the relationship between the environment and users.
Design Zones
Distinct areas within the design support various aspects of meditation. "Space to the Sky" offers a spot for reflection, while "Sanctuary" provides a private environment for contemplation. The "Tiny Altar" stands as a significant focal point for spiritual practices. Other sections, such as "Space of Preparation" and "Step to Spirituality," guide users on their reflective journey, preparing them for deeper engagement.
Materials and Details
The project features specific materials, including 30mm x 6mm oak wood for the walls and 8mm x 8mm oak wood within the structure. These materials are chosen for their durability and visual harmony with the natural setting. The arrangement of wooden elements assists in creating interactions with light, allowing natural illumination to enhance the space as it filters through openings. Each detail integrates to create a thoughtful environment for meditation, merging the interior experience with the external landscape.
