"Rupture" is an architectural design that explores modernity as a way to break from tradition. It is situated in an environment that encourages a deep connection with nature. The design focuses on creating a peaceful space for relaxation and discovery, inviting occupants to step away from their everyday lives. With a careful arrangement of spaces, it fosters both individual experiences and communal interactions, establishing a meaningful relationship between the buildings and the surrounding landscape.

Layout and Orientation

The arrangement of the dwellings is carefully oriented toward the east and south, allowing for maximum exposure to natural light and scenic views. This placement highlights the significance of sightlines while enhancing the overall living experience. By distinguishing between private homes and communal areas, the design encourages social connections while still respecting personal space.

Common Space Design

A central common space acts as a gathering point, promoting interaction among residents and visitors. This area is designed to support easy movement and various activities, creating a welcoming environment for social engagement. It illustrates the concept of rupture by visually and functionally differentiating between shared and individual experiences, enriching the architectural story that unfolds throughout the site.

Materiality and Ecological Integration

Vegetation plays a crucial role in the overall design, fostering a connection between the built environment and nature. The project includes vegetated roofs that enhance both the visual appeal and ecological sustainability. This focus on integrating natural elements into the architecture signifies an awareness of environmental responsibility, benefiting both the inhabitants and the surrounding ecosystem.

Interior Functionality

Inside the individual units, architecture meets the needs of modern living. Each home features essential spaces like a kitchen, dining area, and lounge, all designed to accommodate a range of daily activities. Custom furniture provides practical storage solutions and elevates usability. Thoughtful design elements, such as dining tables with varying seating heights, enhance the overall experience and support different ways of gathering.

The design also incorporates a wooden frame that outlines the relaxation areas, connecting them to views of the outdoors. Window placements align with the platform bed's height, inviting nature into the interior. This attention to detail enriches the living experience while reinforcing the project's relationship with its environment.
