The Piano Festival is located at the intersection of the Dome Stage and the KHOR rest area. It is designed to engage visitors in a natural setting, offering spaces for both interaction and relaxation. The concept revolves around a central Piano feature that not only guides attendees but also creates a vibrant atmosphere while providing tranquil areas to unwind amidst the festival's activities.

Design Integration

The Piano serves as a landmark for festival-goers while capturing the fluidity of movement and sound. It is draped from existing trees, allowing the structure to blend into the surroundings. This integration enhances both the visual appeal and the auditory experience of the festival. The choice to utilize the trees in this manner emphasizes the strong connection between the architecture and the natural environment.

Relaxation Zones

The Wind Down area offers visitors a space to shift from the lively festival to a quieter dining experience. Soothing sounds from the Piano create a calming ambiance, encouraging moments of reflection. This section of the design fosters social interaction while also providing opportunities for personal retreat amidst the hustle and bustle.

Architectural Elements

The food court boasts a roof that hangs among the trees, creating a light and airy feeling. This design choice enhances the tranquility of the dining experience, allowing patrons to enjoy their meals while surrounded by nature. The tree canopy not only supports the structure but also connects the architecture with the living landscape, providing shade and comfort.

Materiality and Functionality

Soft cloth acts as a façade for the design, giving an ethereal quality that suggests floating elements. The fabric sways gently in the wind, adding movement to the overall experience. The façade's ability to extend and retract creates functional flexibility, adapting to different moods throughout the festival. This versatility enriches the visit, allowing the space to resonate with its ever-changing environment.

The final detail of the design features fabric billowing softly in the breeze, symbolizing the relationship between architecture and nature while inviting moments of peace and leisure.
