The Assisi Hotel is located in the picturesque town of Assisi, Italy. This design merges with the surrounding landscape, emphasizing both nature and built structures. Serving as a hospitality space, the hotel offers visitors a unique experience deeply connected to the local topography. The design concept focuses on harmony with its environment and features several distinctive viewpoints that engage with the region’s geography.

Design Concept

The architectural idea integrates the hotel into its setting. By focusing on six key perspectives—Monte Subasio, Tili Vini, Monte Martano, Poggio delle Civitelle, Assisi, and Tili 21—the design reflects a clear understanding of the area’s character. Classical architectural elements, such as towers and squares, are used to connect the visual language of the hotel with the surrounding landscape while meeting modern functional needs.

Spatial Organization

The hotel’s layout includes important areas that enhance guest experiences. A tasting terrace allows visitors to enjoy local food and wine, while a well-equipped kitchen and wine cellars connect guests to the region's rich agriculture. A banquet hall adds functionality, making it possible for people to gather and socialize, underscoring the hotel’s role as a community hub.

Orientation and Environment

The design takes into account seasonal changes, especially during the Summer and Winter Solstices. This consideration of light and heat contributes to energy efficiency and strengthens the relationship between the hotel and its natural surroundings. By doing so, the hotel offers a richer sensory experience for guests, connecting them with their environment.

Plaza Design

At the heart of the project is a plaza that reflects the land’s natural slopes. This area serves as a communal space for visitors to interact while remaining in tune with the landscape. The placement of guest rooms is deliberate, designed to provide views that encourage reflection. This thoughtful arrangement supports an appreciation of the area’s beauty, ensuring that the space is both functional and contemplative.
