Raven Beach House is set on the picturesque shores of Corbu Beach in Romania. The design focuses on integrating the home with its natural surroundings while maximizing the flow of natural light. The concept consists of six modules that extend outward, each varying in height, creating a unique silhouette. This arrangement not only shapes the exterior of the house but also enhances the experiences of those who inhabit it.

Design Concept

The structure incorporates six distinct modules, each serving specific roles in the living space. Central to this design is the inner courtyard found in the middle module. This area plays a vital role by allowing sunlight to filter through and creating a gathering space that feels both private and open at the same time. It fosters social interactions and deepens the connection between different parts of the home, making it an integral aspect of the layout.

Spatial Configuration

The modules' varying heights establish a dynamic visual relationship with the beach environment. This thoughtful configuration draws the eyes upward and adds interest to the building's profile. Additionally, it aids in the circulation of air and light throughout the house, creating comfortable living spaces. The strategic orientation of the modules ensures that residents enjoy expansive views and can fully appreciate the beauty of the coastline.

Sustainability Considerations

While the project does not specify particular materials, its design emphasizes sustainable principles. By prioritizing windows and open areas, the house minimizes reliance on artificial lighting and heating. This approach not only reduces energy consumption but also contributes to a healthier indoor environment. The commitment to sustainability reflects a broader awareness of environmental impact and the importance of living harmoniously with nature.

Large openings invite the natural ambiance of the beach while providing a sense of spaciousness. These design details connect occupants to the outdoor environment, allowing the sounds and sights of the sea to enhance everyday life. Sunlight pouring into the living areas creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, making the home a true reflection of its coastal location.
