5 key facts about this project
Vision Roastery is located in a landscape characterized by the presence of a volcano, creating a unique setting for a multifunctional facility. The design combines a coffee shop, exhibition space, and information point, all crafted to improve the visitor experience. The primary concept revolves around elevating the structure to provide exceptional views of the surroundings while blending into the natural environment.
Design Concept and Integration
The design focuses on an elevated form that enhances sightlines and encourages connection with the landscape. By lifting the main building, it opens up visibility toward the Volcano, inviting guests to appreciate the scenic beauty. Pathways are deliberately integrated, leading visitors from the parking area through an exhibition zone, enriching their journey to the main spaces.
Functional Spaces
A key component of Vision Roastery is the coffee shop, which aims to engage visitors with the landscape. This space features a takeaway zone for those using the trails to the Volcano, making it easy for hikers to grab refreshments. Inside, the design fosters a welcoming atmosphere and offers ample views through large windows, allowing guests to enjoy the natural scenery while they relax.
Structural Materials
The building incorporates cold-formed steel beams that are essential for structural support while promoting an open feel in the interior. These beams work alongside back-to-back Sigma CFS profiles to enhance stability without obstructing views. Icelandic sandwich panels add thermal insulation, supporting energy efficiency, while drywall panels create adaptable interior spaces that can change as needed.
Architectural Details
A notable aspect of the design is the curved roof that covers the exhibition area, blending form with function while connecting the building to nature. Large, inclined windows focus attention on the Volcano, serving as a central feature that links visitors to the landscape's beauty. This thoughtful design encourages users to engage with their surroundings, fostering a sense of place and appreciation for the environment.
