The project is situated in the northern part of La Coma, focusing on creating a community space that fosters interaction and connection among residents. It aims to enhance the existing landscape by introducing essential public squares and green areas, addressing the need for gathering places within the village. The overall design concept ties together functionality and ecological awareness, ensuring that new structures work well with the local historical context.

Community Integration

The design emphasizes the importance of aligning new buildings with the existing village environment. It features a main square along with two smaller squares that act as gathering points for social activities. These spaces encourage residents and visitors to come together, serving as venues for community interaction.

Walkability and Accessibility

A notable aspect of the design is its focus on making the area easy to navigate on foot. The layout prioritizes pedestrian pathways, creating inviting spaces for leisurely movement and exploration. By encouraging walking, the design supports a lively public atmosphere that strengthens social connections among residents.

Sustainable Practices

Repurposing existing buildings plays a key role in the overall approach. The decision to convert an abandoned hall and restaurant into a hostel showcases a commitment to sustainability and efficient use of resources. This strategy preserves the village's historical character while also reducing the environmental impact that new construction typically creates.

Diverse Functional Spaces

The project includes various functional elements that cater to different community needs. Features such as the hostel, hall and restaurant, coworking spaces, street market, yoga center, and artist residences create a multi-purpose environment. This variety accommodates a wide range of activities and interactions, fostering creativity and collaboration among users.

Attention to acoustic detail enriches the atmosphere, providing both residents and artists with a peaceful environment. Thoughtful design choices contribute to a balanced setting that respects the village's heritage while promoting a sense of community and sustainability.
