The ITILI WINI ITALY GUEST HOMES project revitalizes a site characterized by three dilapidated buildings. Located in Italy, the project transforms these structures into a unified ensemble that highlights community engagement and local wine culture. The design integrates existing buildings with new guesthouses centered around a prominent wine tasting area, embodying a traditional square layout that encourages connection and movement.

Architectural Concept

The design concept draws from the Italian tradition of creating communal spaces, arranging everything around a central square. This layout not only helps people move through the area but also makes the wine tasting space the center of social activity. The organization of spaces invites guests to explore and enjoy both the architecture and the natural surroundings.

Functional Elements

A system of pergolas connects various functional areas throughout the site. These structures provide shaded walkways that enhance the outdoor experience for visitors. The pergolas create a welcoming environment that encourages social interaction, framing views of the space and improving its overall spatial quality. Attention is given to their relationship with the central fire pit, reinforcing the idea of community gatherings.

Materiality

Wooden materials are used in the pergola structures, which reflects local architectural practices. This choice connects the project to traditions of the area and offers a look that complements the natural environment. The integration of these materials enhances the project’s functionality while being visually appealing and contextually relevant.

Outdoor Spaces

Green areas and sitting zones are incorporated to provide spaces for leisure and relaxation. These outdoor elements are thoughtfully placed within the design and encourage guests to engage in various activities. The careful arrangement of seating and landscaping creates a tranquil atmosphere, offering a blend of simplicity and beauty.

The wine tasting area allows for ample views, enabling guests to enjoy the landscape while savoring local wine selections.
