Chakra Lakes Framed by Natural Wood and Community Square

Project in-detail

Seven lakes representing chakras guide visitors through a community square, where natural wood and local rock create a space for meditation and social interaction.
5 key facts about this project
01
Seven lakes symbolize the chakras, creating a unique spiritual journey.
02
The design includes a responsive water wall that enhances privacy.
03
Natural wood and local rock ensure sustainable material use.
04
A large community square facilitates social events and gatherings.
05
The meditation space is strategically placed at the axis' terminus for focused reflection.

The design is situated near a church in a village area, featuring a well-structured layout that integrates three main sections. At the heart of the design is an axis of seven lakes, each representing a chakra, leading to a designated meditation space. This arrangement encourages both spiritual contemplation and community interaction, creating a space where well-being is prioritized alongside social engagement.

Spatial Arrangement

A central axis provides a clear pathway through the site, enhancing the flow of movement. Vertical walls frame the spaces, guiding visitors toward the meditation area. This approach opens up opportunities for different experiences, turning what could be a monotonous layout into one that is engaging and dynamic.

Community Interaction

Adjacent to the lakes is a large square that acts as a connection to the town. It is designed to host various community activities, including a Town Market, promoting social interaction among residents and visitors. This square helps bridge the architectural spaces with the surrounding urban environment, emphasizing the importance of communal life.

Natural Features

The design includes a water wall that activates during rainfall. This feature not only adds visual interest but also creates a distinctive atmosphere, maintaining privacy for those who use the area. Water introduces a calming presence, reinforcing the connection to nature while enhancing the overall experience of the site.

Material Choices

The materials used in the layout consist of locally sourced wood and rocks. This choice reflects a commitment to sustainability and helps the design fit naturally into its surroundings. By using materials that are familiar to the area, the design strengthens the sense of place and community.

The meditation space at the end of the axis offers a quiet spot for reflection, surrounded by the soothing presence of the lakes. Here, individuals can connect with their thoughts while enjoying the tranquil environment created by the thoughtful layout.
