Linnea Lujak from Sweden
Master student at Lund School of Architecture, completed one year of internship at BIG, Bjarke Ingels Group, in Copenhagen last year. Have been studying art and design before I started architecture school.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been involved?
As a student I want to try out different kinds of projects and phases within the projects, to gain experience and find my path in the architecture career.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Architecture is the art of designing structures for humans. The architect's role is to create spaces and patterns, improve society, acknowledge the history and be aware of the future at the same time.
Why do you participate in architecture competitions?
I enjoy the process of being creative, finding solutions, and the challenge of a competition.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
Competitions are a good way of improving your portfolio and to get recognition of your work.
