Take a seat and make a statement!
We’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to one of our Honorable mention winners for our "Virtual Home" competition – Bochuan Zheng, Jiayi Cai and Xuhan Zhao from United States!
Honorable mention winners from United States
We are students from Rhode Island School of Design Architecture Department.
The significance of architecture is not only its physical properties as a shelter, but also its spiritual properties. Because architecture is man-made and not inherent in nature, they need design and human imagination. Once the factor of imagination is added, the spiritual attributes will become prominent. Because when we make buildings strong and practical, we will also carry our imagination of the world, which will be reflected in our architectural forms consciously or unconsciously. The architect is the role that helps people to visualize this kind of imagination.
Participating in competitions helps to experience the joy of working with others to complete a task in practice. It can better stimulate the exploration and innovation spirit of designers, and strengthen the mutual communication between designers. For students, participating in this type of competition can broaden their horizons, trigger their own thinking from larger issues, which can fully exercise their ability to analyze and solve problems.
The improvement of various skills and the enhancement of information acquisition are the real focus of participating in the competition. Regardless of the winning rate of the competition, the value of learning new things in the process is far greater than the recognition of the competition organizing committee.
