Julieta Derdoy and Matias Fidel Moyano from Argentina
We are Julieta and Fidel, members of anfibio. Since 2019 we have been working on architecture visualization. We are both architects, and we consider percepction to be the baise of our work. Transmitting trough images, more than spaces.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been involved?
We work both on client projects, and our own projects (for competitions mostly) in different scales. In these last ones is where we find more freedom to express our ideas. But of course, working together with other colleagues is also an enriching experience and could lead to great results.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Architecture is an awakening of our senses. The role of the architect is creating spaces that makes us feel alive, that puts our perception at stake. If not, there is no architecture.
Why do you participate in architecture competitions?
Competitions are the opportunity to get immerse in new world projects, in understading new cultures, and to let our minds create with no limits (or fewer).
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
We think that as we said before, the greatest benefit is the opportunity to create. It is just you and your ideas. And beyond the own results, it is also interesting to see the approach of others in front of the same starting point.
