I graduated from UC Berkeley with a M.Arch degree, and I’m currently working at SOM LA office as an architectural designer, pursuing my License as well.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?
I love exploring innovative ways of using material, such as assembly details, structure uniqueness, and aesthetic potentials, which are usually the starting point of my design.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Most people spent most of their time in buildings - houses, offices, museums, stations, hospitals. In this case, good designs of architecture have the ability to elevate human experiences.
Why do you participate in architecture competitions?
Architecture competitions offer me opportunities to think about future buildings and cities, to explore the boundaries of architecture, to study how new technologies can impact architecture.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
