We’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to the Sustainability Award winners of our "Office Design Challenge / Edition #2" competition – Dominik Kremerskothen, Vanessa Riecke and Jadwiga Slezak from Germany!

auf - architektur + film GbR was founded in Berlin on October 21, 2021, where we are still based. Dominik and Vanessa created a platform for their ideas to go out and sing and dance in the world. We have heard of employees. Jadwiga, a close ally, a super-designer and scientific researcher in the fields of design, mobility and sustainability with a trained eye on issues of our times. She was a natural and wonderful companion on our journey to OFF HOME.

Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been involved?

auf – architektur + film GbR love to create architecture and movies. Both occupy all sorts of spaces and are made for people. We believe they affect people and need to be designed with the utmost love and care. We both spent our time on a lot of things and projects like magazines, children’s books, cd covers, houses, events, office spaces, exhibitions, urban design, movie sets and teaching projects. Life sees us venturing into our unchartered territories, not to succumb to convenience but with the desire to stay curious. Jadwiga Slezak relates. She writes, designs, draws, models and lives everything she does. From university courses to trains, streetcars, scooters, hospital wards, furniture’s and a whole waterepublic. She is alive.

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

We live in time and space. There is no life without physicality. There is no life without architecture. Its neglect is a mistake of societies. It is war and peace.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

We love space for thoughts and money to live.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
