Please tell us about your company (when it was founded, where it is based, how many employees, etc) Alternatively, if you do not have a company, please give us some insights on your own professional/academia background.

I'm an architect working at an international multi-disciplinary firm based in London. My professional journey in architecture began with my graduation from the University of Westminster in 2018, a period during which I developed a passion for large-scale projects in complex urban environments. Since then, I have been privileged to collaborate in multiple architectural studios with diverse teams of professionals, driving forward-thinking solutions that address the complexities of modern infrastructure.

Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?

Throughout my architectural career, I have honed my skills and expertise with a particular focus on aviation projects worldwide. This niche area has allowed me to blend functionality with aesthetic innovation, crafting spaces that serve as both transit points and memorable experiences. Working on these large-scale projects has provided me with a unique perspective on the interplay between architecture, technology, and user experience. My work is driven by a passion for creating user-centric spaces and researching innovative sustainable solutions. Each project is a testament to the endless possibilities that architecture offers in shaping environments and improving the way we live and move.

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

Our role as architects in society is multifaceted. We are visionaries and problem solvers, tasked with interpreting the needs and aspirations of communities into tangible forms. As architects, we have the responsibility to design spaces that are sustainable and resilient. Our work impacts how people interact with their environment, from the intimate scale of a Microhome to the expansive complexity of an airport. In my day-to-day work, particularly within the context of international airport projects, I see architects as facilitators of movement and connection, creating gateways that welcome and guide millions of travelers. We blend technical precision with creative vision to craft environments that are efficient, safe, and reflective of cultural identity.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

I participate in architecture competitions to constantly challenge myself and push the boundaries of innovative design. While my work focuses on finding solutions for complex infrastructure projects, these competitions provide a unique platform to explore creative ideas and reflect on pressing global issues. They allow me to step outside the constraints of commercially driven projects and experiment with bold, visionary concepts. This not only keeps my design skills sharp but also fuels my passion for addressing societal challenges through architecture, contributing fresh perspectives to the field and fostering a deeper connection with the broader architectural community.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

I advise individuals to view architecture competitions as valuable opportunities for growth and creativity. These competitions allow you to explore innovative ideas, gain diverse perspectives, and challenge yourself beyond the constraints of typical projects. Participating can sharpen your skills and provide a platform for addressing real-world issues. If you're passionate about design and eager to expand your horizons, competitions can be incredibly beneficial.
