Design a comfortable and accessible home for the elderly in Portugal
We’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to one of our Honorable mention winners for our "Iceland Greenhouse Restaurant" competition – Nicolas Mayorga Trujillo and Nicolas Pineda Otalora from Colombia!
Nicolas Mayorga Trujillo and Nicolas Pineda Otalora from Colombia
We are a team of two young Colombian architects, recently graduated from Universidad de los Andes, in Bogota. We do not possess a company yet, nor employees, but we have worked in several competitions.
We have participated in medium scale competitions both individually and together. We have explored social projects for the poor, conceptual projects, and this restaurant as well. Also, we have worked professionally in small scale remodeling projects.
Architecture means to give shelter and life to people under the beauty of space. The role of an architect in our society is to help people who struggle getting decent spaces for living, for sharing and for developing themselves.
We participate in architecture competitions because Architecture is our passion. We love to solve problems that challenge us, and that makes us leave our comfort zone.
What advice would we give to people who waver in participating in competitions? We would encourage them to challenge themselves. Maybe they will not win or get a mention in several participations, but they will get a lot of knowledge by doing so, thus, improving their architectural practice.
