Please tell us about your company (when it was founded, where it is based, how many employees, etc) Alternatively, if you do not have a company, please give us some insights on your own professional/academia background.

We are a collective formed by a small group of former university classmates from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, based in Santiago. Each of us comes from different areas of expertise, complementing landscape, sustainability, and design, aligning our scope in creating projects that reconcile the fractured relationship between human development and the territory. Our design is inspired by the contrasting Chilean landscapes, marked by the prominent Andes mountain range, which descends through volcanoes, deserts, and forests to meet the vast Pacific Ocean.

Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?

As a collective, we recently started participating in different local and international competitions that feature challenging and innovative prompts where interaction with the landscape is at the forefront. We have developed a special interest in projects that scale from constructive detail to the landscape, ranging from modular construction systems to conscious territorial planning.

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

To us, the role of the architect is to acknowledge the issues with the current way of inhabiting the landscape and to promote a more sustainable future.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

We participate in architecture competitions to find the space to complement our different backgrounds in a challenging project and to contrast our ideas with the collective.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

Competitions are always a way to find new challenges in different places around the world.
