Please tell us about your company (when it was founded, where it is based, how many employees, etc) Alternatively, if you do not have a company, please give us some insights on your own professional/academia background.

XXX-Since graduating from the Peter Behrens School of Architecture in Düsseldorf, I have been working in a medium-sized architectural office specializing in the design of healthcare facilities and office buildings. In order to strengthen a signature style and grow as an aspiring architect, I have already taken part in several architectural competitions.

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

For me, architecture is the art and science of designing spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It is an essential part of our built environment and directly influences how we live, work and interact. Architecture creates not only physical structures, but also emotional and cultural connections that shape our identity and sense of community. Architects play a crucial role in our society and are not only responsible for the design and development of building structures, but also for creating liveable and sustainable spaces.”

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

What excites me the most is the challenge of providing my own solutions for a wide variety of tasks and being able to share them with a community. The platform offers young architects, in particular, the opportunity to present new and inspiring ideas to enhance growth and personal development.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

Participation in a competition can be a chance to spread your ideas and initiate valuable conversations for future architectural realisations. Competitions also offer a great opportunity to test and develop skills. It is essential to find joy in challenging yourself and be willing to think outside the box. Be passionate, curious and trust the process.”
