What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Architecture is an experience. It can generate emotions by experiencing spaces and also by creating a dialogue with its context. It is the constant research of composition.
Architects need to understand the context and the programs that deal with it to create an answer that will be experienced by people.
Why do you participate in architecture competitions?
Architecture competitions are a great way to challenge my creative skills. It is also an opportunity for me to design a broad variety of programs. What excites me the most is being able to design different buildings, scales, programs, etc.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
If you start thinking about doing a competition, just do it. Jump on the drawing board and start sketching. Architecture competitions are a great way to improve your skills and just challenge yourself. As architects, being able to design new things is something we all want. So – just do it.
