3rd prize winners from Germany
We are students from Darmstadt, Germany. Xi ist majoring in both Interior Architecture and Time-based Media, while Xian in Architecture. In addition, we are also colleagues in L&W Architekten.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been involved?
As far in office, we have been involved in a wide variety of practical projects with different scales, such as residential, fire stations, office buildings, commercial complexes etc., ranging from high-rise to reconstruction. Individually we participate in competitions which are interesting and difficult to come across in work or study.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Architecture means contemporary, dynamic and interdisciplinary. Exploring its boundary is much more meaningful as the doctrinairism.
Why do you participate in architecture competitions?
Some of competitions that are different from traditional architecture, especially interaction design and interdisciplinary art. These give us more creative possibilities and space to explore.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
If you have some impulse to design at this moment, fire it up.
