Vine Pergola and Reused Bricks Create Inviting Community Spaces

Project in-detail

A vine-covered pergola and reused bricks enhance the integration of private residences into the Italian landscape, providing communal spaces that encourage social interaction and cultural immersion.
5 key facts about this project
01
Vine-covered pergola provides shaded outdoor gathering spaces.
02
Reused bricks reflect the historical context of the Italian village.
03
Private terraces are designed for expansive mountain views.
04
New olive and citrus trees enhance the site’s ecological footprint.
05
Large glazing promotes natural light and connection to nature.

Situated in an Italian village, the architecture reflects a blend of modern living with traditional styles. The design emphasizes private homes that promote comfort while encouraging social interaction. Thoughtfully arranged around scenic views, the layout enhances the experience of living in this picturesque locale.

Design Concept and Layout

The private houses form the core of the design, focusing on both utility and user experience. Each residence is equipped with large windows that bring in natural light and connect indoor spaces with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. There is a clear distinction between private and communal areas, allowing residents to enjoy solitude while engaging with their neighbors and local community.

Integration of Greenery and Outdoor Spaces

Landscape design plays a crucial role in this project. Existing trees are preserved, while new olive and citrus trees are planted, enriching the surroundings. These green elements soften the transition between the buildings and nature. Outdoor areas, such as terraces and lounge spaces, invite residents to relax and appreciate the outdoor environment.

Sustainability Features and Material Reuse

Sustainability is woven into the project’s fabric. Solar panels installed on the roof contribute to energy efficiency, while a rainwater collection system helps manage resources. The design also incorporates reused bricks from previously existing structures. This not only supports environmental responsibility but also maintains a connection to the village’s architectural history.

Community and Shared Spaces

Common areas, including wine tasting facilities with open kitchens, are designed to bring residents together. This encourages socialization while also allowing for private moments. By reducing the number of shared spaces, the layout reinforces individual comfort. The design ensures a lively community atmosphere that is welcoming yet respects personal space.

The design reaches a thoughtful conclusion with a pergola draped in vines. This feature not only offers shade and beauty but also encourages interaction with nature. It provides a place for residents to gather, reflect, and appreciate their surroundings in a shared yet personal environment.
