REED Canopy Over Steel Framework Enhances Visitor Experience at Nature Gateway

Project in-detail

Integrated into the natural landscape, the SLOPE creates a smooth transition between public and private spaces, while the use of REED and STEEL enhances the connection to the environment, making it an inviting gateway for visitors to the park.
5 key facts about this project
01
SLOPE serves as both a pathway and a natural barrier between public and private areas.
02
The design features energy-generating technology that allows visitors to produce electricity while walking.
03
REED is used to camouflage the facade, blending the gateway with its natural surroundings.
04
The PLAYGROUND incorporates thick ropes, promoting physical interaction with nature.
05
Distinct zones for campers and visitors enhance privacy and user experience.

The PAPE NATURE PARK GATEWAY serves as an important entry point to PAPE NATURE PARK, creating a connection between city life and the natural world. Located in an area rich with greenery, the design emphasizes accessibility while preserving the environment. The goal is to meet the diverse needs of visitors and campers, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their time in nature.

Design Concept

At the center of the design is the SLOPE, which leads visitors into the forest. This gentle incline not only serves as a path but also reflects the natural landscape's contours. The layout includes separate circulation routes to keep public spaces distinct from private camping areas. This separation allows campers and lodgers to experience privacy while still welcoming visitors to the park.

Functional Zoning

The project features a clear functional zoning of its spaces. The ground floor hosts essential facilities, such as a Ticket Booth, Visitor Center, Visitor Park, and Office. These areas are designed to facilitate public interaction and information sharing. On the first floor, amenities include Public Toilets, Camper Toilets and Showers, Camping Storage, Lodging, and a Playground. This arrangement balances communal services with private necessities, catering to various user needs.

Sustainable Features

Sustainability is a key aspect of the design, highlighted by features like the FLOOR ENERGY GENERATOR. This generator captures energy from the movement of visitors, allowing them to produce electricity as they walk. Such an approach reduces the project's environmental impact and encourages active participation. Additionally, the PLAYGROUND uses thick ropes to create an engaging play environment that connects children with nature.

Materials and Aesthetics

Materials play an important role in the overall expression of the design. REED, commonly found in the region, is used to help the structure blend into its surroundings. STEEL is used in the construction framework, providing strength and durability. The combination of these materials enhances the building's connection to nature while ensuring it remains practical. The elevation of the structure displays these elements effectively, highlighting how they work together within the design.

The thoughtful arrangement of spaces, coupled with careful material choices, creates an environment that invites exploration and interaction with the landscape.
