05
Located in the bustling urban context of Shibuya, Japan.

The meditation pod is located in the busy urban area of Shibuya, Japan. It serves as a quiet space for reflection amid the fast-paced environment that characterizes the city. The design focuses on creating a feeling of calm through its innovative exploration of space and time. By using distorted shapes, it invites users to engage with their surroundings in a new way.

Geometric Form and Visual Interest

The pod features a unique geometric form that incorporates Voronoi and polygon shapes. This design creates a sense of movement and fluidity. As people move through the space, the warped geometry offers a shift in perspective, allowing users to experience a different sense of time and space.

Materiality and Structural Integrity

Carbon fiber panels are used in the construction of the pod, providing both lightness and strength. This choice of material allows for complex shapes while ensuring the structure holds together effectively. The use of such panels enhances the visual appeal and demonstrates careful attention to technical details.

Atmospheric Elements

Color plays an important role in the overall design. The combination of orange and black accents not only emphasizes various design features but also contributes to the meditative atmosphere within the pod. This color scheme creates a warm space that encourages users to slow down and reflect, making their experience more meaningful.

Sensory Engagement

Sensory lights are integrated into the design to further enhance the experience. These lights change the atmosphere inside the pod, creating different moods based on their interaction with the various shapes and surfaces. The arrangement of lights invites users to partake in a more thoughtful exploration of the space, encouraging moments of contemplation in a hectic environment.

The pod stands as an exploration of how well-designed spaces can offer moments of peace and reflection within a bustling city. Its thoughtful design and elements work together to provide a unique setting for meditation.
