The Floating Productive Housing project is located along the coastal areas of China, tackling the issues brought about by rapid urbanization and an increasing population. The design aims to create a sustainable living environment that links everyday life with productive activities. It is an innovative floating structure that seeks to enhance the community's relationship with its marine resources, allowing for a direct engagement with the surrounding environment.

Spatial Organization

The building features a clear organization of spaces that serve specific functions and encourage community interaction. The first level includes important facilities like a fish farm, areas for fishermen, and market spaces. Each of these zones is designed to support local economic activities while promoting connections among community members. This layout fosters collaboration and provides opportunities for daily engagement with both work and social life.

Residential Integration

Above the first level are the residential units, which blend seamlessly with the productive systems. This design choice reinforces the relationship between living spaces and local economic practices. Residents can participate actively in the surrounding marine activities, allowing domestic life and work to coexist effectively. The configuration highlights the potential for residents to engage in their community while maintaining their homes.

Recreational Spaces

The third level features a recreational deck, which provides open spaces for leisure and socializing. This area offers residents a place to gather and relax. It encourages interaction and creates a sense of belonging among users. The design allows occupants to engage with the coastal landscape, promoting a lifestyle that supports both recreation and community spirit.

Movement throughout the structure is facilitated by a series of pathways connecting different levels and areas. This design detail is critical in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere, helping residents navigate the mixed-use environment. The thoughtful arrangement and connectivity ensure that life in the floating habitat remains lively and adaptable to the surrounding coastal conditions.
