The SANSUSI FESTIVAL features a Biophilic Food Court of Arts, located in a forest that blends food experiences with nature. It creates a space for visitors to enjoy meals while listening to live music. The overall design idea is to incorporate natural surroundings and artistic elements, allowing the environment to enhance the dining experience.

Design Concept

The food court is designed as a multifunctional area where artists can perform and visitors can dine. It reimagines the traditional dining space as a stage for art, creating a lively interaction between guests and performers. This focus on participation encourages a connection between culinary offerings and artistic expression, bringing people together in a unique way.

Materials and Construction

The project utilizes a sustainable wooden prefabrication system known as “Adaptive Furniture.” This approach allows the structures to fit within the forest's existing features. The use of wood aligns with environmentally friendly practices, supporting sustainability throughout the development.

Spatial Organization

The layout consists of circular dining arrangements that foster community engagement while providing personal space. This design encourages conversation among diners. Additionally, the dining area acts as a platform for artistic performances, making the space both functional and engaging for visitors.

Functional Areas

A circular bench around a fire pit serves as an informal gathering space for socializing. The welcome counter serves dual purposes: it operates as a bar in the evening and also conceals food preparation areas from view. Light-filled spaces designated for food preparation remain discreet, ensuring smooth operations without detracting from the dining atmosphere.

Natural light plays an important role in setting the tone, creating a warm and inviting environment that enhances both the dining and performance experiences.
