We’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to the winners of the Honorable mention of our “Teamakers Guest House ” competition - Lisa Gaudin and Sophie Charier from France!
Lisa Gaudin and Sophie Charier from France
We both studied space design in L’Ecole de Design NANTES Atlantique, during our five years at school we spent 6 months in Mexico city for an internship. This experience opened our minds and changed our way of seeing and thinking about architecture.
After graduating, Sophie chose to continue her studies at Paris Belleville architecture school, Lisa started to work as space designer for luxury brands in Paris.
In all our projects we have a special relationship with the detail and materials which is a real obsession. We think about it in different scales : architecture and also furniture / interior design.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Sustainability, we think today the most important thing for the architect is to think about the stakes of tomorrow with a general vision. How can we improve our way to live without destructing the planet, using different materials and building techniques?
Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?
Participating in this competition is, for us, a way to improve and cultivate our curiosity and creativity, as architects or designers, we have to maintain those precious skill.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?
You have nothing to lose and much to win, mostly at the beginning. You will do your best to be at the same level as senior architects participating and this will push you to experience new ways to create.
