Design meditation cabins to help Tokyo citizens destress and reconnect
We’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to one of our Honorable mention winners for our “SKYHIVE 2021 Skyscraper Challenge” competition – Yuezhi Cai, Haoxuan Liang, Jianan Zhuang and Xiaoxiao Li from Australia!
Haoxuan Liang from Australia
Our team came together in our final year studying for our master's degree at the University of New South Wales. For our graduation studio, each of us chose a different specialization, and none of us had classes together. However, the disconnection we experienced because of Covid-19 was something we all resonated with, and a challenge we really wanted to tackle. For all of us, this is the first competition we have participated in and the first project outside of our design studio classes.
Architecture is a dialogue between people, time, space, and place. It is a physical reflection of the context in which it is built.
Architecture competitions offer a platform for us to ask the question 'what if'. It allows us to test out possibilities that are often constrained in professional practice.
