Hüseyin Melih Baktır: Hüseyin Melih Baktır was born in Kayseri. He graduated from the TOBB Economy and Technology University in 2020. During his studies, he participated in national workshops. After the graduation, he started working in an architectural office and won several prizes in national architecture competitions.
Nebile Ece Onulay: Nebile Ece Onulay was born in Ankara. She graduated from the TOBB Economy and Technology University in 2020. During her studies, she participated in national and international workshops. After the graduation, she started working in an international architectural office.
Çağla Kıran: Çağla Kıran was born in Ankara, Turkey. She is a senior interior architecture and environmental design student at Bilkent University. While studying, she has participated in many workshops and exhibitions. She also works as a part time employee and freelancer.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been involved?
We mainly work as concept developers with different architectural scales, typologies, and details.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Architecture affects the human life in several ways. It affects lifestyle and psychology. Architecture holds a key to improve human life for better.
Why do you participate in architecture competitions?
It's a good practice for improving ourselves and gaining experience, while having a little fun in a short period.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
Architecture competitions create a platform where you can freely express your ideas while making feeling a sense of competition and ambition. It allows us to trigger the free and unlimited thinking ability that we have lost in the business life.
