Please tell us about your company (when it was founded, where it is based, how many employees, etc) Alternatively, if you do not have a company, please give us some insights on your own professional/academia background.

We are a multidisciplinary team based in Turkey, and each of us has our own design practice. Merve Tiryaki is an urban designer and landscape architect. Sümeyra Nur Geldi is an architect. Merve Geldi Kanak is an interior designer. Hilal Karakök is an urban designer and landscape architect.

Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?

In their background, Merve T., as an urban designer, has been striving to develop large-scale urban design projects with a focus on art-architecture interaction. Sumeyra and Merve G. specialize in residential and commercial architecture, as well as interior design. Hilal focuses on landscape design projects.

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

Architecture, in the process of designing the built environment, seeks to address prevailing issues through a comprehensive approach, prioritizing the human experience.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

Through architectural competitions, we have the opportunity to create designs in diverse geographical and contextual settings.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

Competitions for designers give them the opportunity to exhibit their abilities and help them realize their potential.
