Please tell us about your company (when it was founded, where it is based, how many employees, etc) Alternatively, if you do not have a company, please give us some insights on your own professional/academia background.
Eshed Architects, founded in 2020. Dani Eshed, a licensed architect in the US, is the founder and principal. Two other designers are working in the firm.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?
The company has been working on several project types such as single-family houses, multi-family houses, and mixed-use projects combining commercial and residential.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
I believe the role of the architect is to build connections. A connection between the existing built environment and a better one. A connection between the world of nature and the world of steel and concrete. A connection between people, their surroundings, and other humans.
Why do you participate in architecture competitions?
We participate in competitions because it's fun.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
It's a way for you to give form to otherwise abstract ideas, and you can then showcase these ideas
