Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where company/ individuals have been involved?
Perhaps due to my background in psychology, I enjoy working on residential projects where one can easily project themselves into. This includes both single family homes and residential complexes.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
To me, the role of an architect is to address a complex matrix of historical, social-economical, political, and cultural conditions through spatial design.
Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?
I am currently in the transition from the academic world to the architectural industry. Participating in competitions allows me to continue indulge in learning and thinking like a student. This competition is especially personal because it was based on my final year student project. It gave me a chance to rework the project and synthesize what was essential to carry it further.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?
There is something beautiful about transcribing an idea into design. It is a self discussion, visualising and consolidating your own belief on a topic. It is also like placing something on a bulletin board and having conversations with no specific audience in mind.
