GConstructions is a family business in the Greek Real Estate market for more than 40 years. The company is activated mainly in the field of residential building construction projects. It takes over all stages of building development and more specific: plot selection, design, construction and sales. Fotis Gazepidis has studied civil engineering, has a master degree in analysis and design of structures, is the successor of the company and he is involved in all stages, while Anna Hatziioannou she is MSc architect, studied in National Technical University of Athens and she is responsible for architectural design and interior decoration of the projects. Gconstructions undertakes small residential buildings (3 to 8 residencies each) in the north suburbs of Athens. What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

Architecture is the privilege to be a creator of a composition with a social impact.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

It is a great opportunity to propose a design concept with a positive social impact.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

It is unique prospect for you to work on a design concept "out of the box" which will be evaluated by expert designers. The procedure puss you to new paths and help you being open minded. You have only to gain and nothing to lose.
