What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Architects have the opportunity to improve the well-being of communities and to establish better living situations for all. They have a social responsibility to initiate awareness of issues within our society.
Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?
In recent years at LTU, many design courses provide projects that are based off of real time competitions. Though the outcome of the course is not to submit for the competition, it’s really great because it gives students the opportunity to participate if they wish.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?
Entering design competitions can help students exercise their creativity outside of their studio atmosphere. It gives an opportunity for individuals to explore their interests and passions that they may not have been able to pursue in their education.
