Fanni Zita Salamin and Hunor Albert Szántó from Hungary
We are fourth year architecture students from Budapest. We have been working on several projects in the last year, sometimes due to school, and sometimes to try something new. During these projects we found out how efficient working together is.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where company/ individuals have been involved?
Working together we tried to change the scale, and be more experimental, and looking for projects where we can break the daily rules, and be more extreme. We like these short-term projects, because we have more time to focus on the concept and keeping it untill the last detail.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
We think of being an architect not just as a profession, but as a lifestyle. It changes our point of views, and make us more open minded in everyday life.
Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?
The site was very interesting at the first time too. And a good idea for the concept which came at the very beginning gave us the motivation to participate.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?
Architecture competitions are always a good way to think without boundaries, and break the everyday routine.
