I’m currently a student of Dongguk University. Studying in the center of Seoul, I can visit a lot of high-tech buildings and improve my design skills through various experiences.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been involved?
As Seoul is a densely populated city, I have focused on designing apartments and skyscrapers. But I try to design various scales of buildings to improve my designing skills.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Architecture can be a solution to various social problems. That’s the reason why architects have to be responsible for buildings they designed.
Why do you participate in architecture competitions?
I think competition is a stage for the young architect. As an architecture student, I want to prove myself and measure my designing level through worldwide competition.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
Competition is always difficult, however if you try hard and never give up, you can achieve your goal. Don’t afraid of failure, sometimes failure can be the next step of your career.
