Conolly's of Leap is located in Leap, Ireland, where it functions as an important social gathering place and cultural landmark. The design focuses on preserving the pub's historical elements while adapting to the needs of modern visitors. The overall concept emphasizes a connection between the old and the new, ensuring that the pub maintains its character while improving the experience for a diverse audience.

Preservation of Historical Elements
The existing front and rear bar areas are kept intact, allowing visitors to enjoy the traditional atmosphere. This preservation plays a significant role in retaining the pub's cultural significance. By maintaining these spaces, the design acknowledges the history of Conolly's, making sure it remains relevant for both local patrons and tourists.

Contemporary Expansion
A notable addition is the Waterfall Stage area, which reflects a modern understanding of the pub’s potential. This new space is designed to host various events, showcasing Leap's appeal in a contemporary context. The Waterfall Stage blends the venue's historical aspects with modern functionality, making it suitable for a wider range of uses and drawing in a diverse audience.

Functional Enhancements
The design includes several improvements to enhance operations. A new bar and kiosk on the second floor are added to help better serve patrons and make service more efficient during busy times. Additionally, the kitchen will be upgraded and expanded, allowing for a more extensive menu and accommodating larger groups. These functional changes aim to create a better dining experience for guests.

Architectural Integration
The project emphasizes a cohesive relationship between old and new through the recreation of the mezzanine in the new area. This feature allows for smooth movement between the traditional and modern sections, encouraging interaction in different parts of the venue. An outdoor space with a tribune has also been included, increasing capacity for events and promoting social interaction in a pleasant environment.

The thoughtful design approach ensures that Conolly's of Leap remains a space that honors its history while providing modern comforts. The visual connection between its traditional and new areas defines the character of the pub, creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
