The project focused on the witch hunting incident provides an insightful exploration of a complex and painful historical subject. It is designed to engage visitors in a meaningful way, situating them within a narrative that examines the experiences of those persecuted during this dark period. The overall design concept revolves around three key themes: Experience, Reflection, and View, each contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the topic.

Experience

The first section immerses visitors in the perspective of witches, creating an environment that captures the feeling of being under scrutiny. The layout includes spatial constraints that reflect the oppressive conditions of the time. As visitors move through the space, they are guided by carefully arranged lighting, which emphasizes the emotional weight of the experience. Mirrors are incorporated to create a dynamic interaction between visitors and the historical portrayal. This arrangement invites onlookers to confront societal judgment and encourages a deeper appreciation for the struggles faced by those accused.

Reflection

The second segment serves as a calm and contemplative area, designed for personal thought and introspection. It features an interpretation room and a symbolic tombstone, both intended to honor the memory of the individuals involved in the witch trials. The design of this space offers a respite from the intensity of the previous section, allowing visitors to quietly process the information and emotions stirred by the experience. This area encourages a deeper examination of historical memory and the significance of commemoration.

View

The last section is focused on openness and encourages dialogue among visitors. The design prioritizes a communal atmosphere that fosters conversation and exchange of ideas. It invites visitors to share their thoughts and perspectives on the witch trials, shifting from individual reflection to a collective understanding of the themes addressed throughout the exhibition. This section is deliberately welcoming, intended to connect different viewpoints, and enhance the overall educational goal of the design.

Materials play a role in conveying the themes throughout the project. Foamed aluminium is utilized for its contemporary qualities, while cement contributes to a sense of permanence, linking the design to the historical narrative. The inclusion of wood adds warmth, encouraging engagement and providing an inviting environment. Each material choice complements the overall intent, making the space resonate with the complex feelings associated with the events being represented.
