The design of "Shades of Wine" sits in a beautiful landscape rich with the tradition of winemaking. The building functions as a space for visitors to gather and learn about the local wine culture while offering accommodation in the form of a guesthouse. The overall design concept focuses on sustainability, community, and the art of winemaking. By integrating architecture with nature, the project creates a connection between the built environment and its outdoor surroundings.

Public Building

A notable feature is the public building, defined by its round, flowing shape that encourages people to come together. The open interior spaces are designed for interaction, enabling guests to participate in various activities related to wine. A rooftop terrace and cooking workshop enhance this social experience, providing scenic views of the winery and the landscape.

Art and Light

One eye-catching element is the large window that showcases the artwork called "Shades of Wine." This piece consists of colorful, uniquely shaped glass sections that allow natural light to filter through in interesting ways. The semi-transparent wall adds character to the space, blending artistic expression with the educational aspects of wine culture.

Guesthouse Design

The guesthouse offers a contrast to the public building with a less bold design. Its form promotes privacy while still engaging with the surrounding scenery. The rooms feature large windows and wooden decks that connect to the landscape, creating a serene retreat for guests looking to unwind in a natural setting.

Sustainable Practices

Emphasizing environmentally friendly design, the project includes renewable energy systems like solar panels and methods for collecting rainwater. The materials used also reflect a commitment to sustainability, featuring sandstone on the façades, clay plaster in natural hues, recycled concrete, and timber sourced from local forests. These choices help reduce the ecological impact of the building while honoring the local architectural style.

"Shades of Wine" features inviting outdoor spaces and small gardens that serve as transitions from the building to the agricultural land. This design invites guests to explore and experience the traditions of winemaking in the area, creating a rich sense of place.
