Olivier Lord, Dany Durand-Courchesne and Karen Piché from Canada
Karen Piché and Olivier Lord took a step out from the offices where they work to join forces with Durand Courchesne. The firm was founded by Dany Durand Courchesne in 2017 in Montreal, Canada. We all know each other from architecture school and did multiple competitions together.
Durand Courchesne focuses mainly on residential, commercial and small scale industrial buildings. The latest projects include a restaurant, a single-dwelling house and industrial offices.
Architecture, for us, is about trying to use a simple and timeless language to answer specific needs.
Participating in vision competitions is a great opportunity to step out of our daily practices to reinvent our conceptual skills.
It is a great way to hone your conceptual skills through a clear design narrative without falling into the constraints of your regular practice.
